Emilie rose, crochet headband

This is a quick and easy crochet headband. Perfect when you need a little gift, in a hurry.

Emilie rose, crochet headband

Yarn:  Vipe, by Dale garn, or any other sport / 5 ply yarn

Amount: Two different colors, à 50 g (you only need a little bit of each color, so feel free to take a dive into your scrap yarn)

Hook: 3mm

Other: A button or some pearls to decorate the flower.

st = stitch
ch = chain
ss = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
tr = treble
rnd(s) = round(s)
ch-sp = chain space

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Headband, size 3 years and up
1. Ch 98

2. [1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in 2nd ch from hook, skip 2 ch, *[1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next ch, skip 2 ch,* repeat from *-* till end, finish with 1 sc in last ch.

3. Ch 60 , 1 ss in 2nd ch from hook, work 1 ss in each ch = 59 ss

4. Work from the other side of the chain.
[1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in the 1st ch, skip 2 ch, *[1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next ch, skip 2 ch,* repeat from *-* till end, finish with 1 sc in last ch.

5.  Ch 60 , 1 ss in 2nd ch from hook, work 1 ss in each ch = 59 ss,
finish with 1 ss in the 1st sc on rnd 2. Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Headband, size 0 - 2 years
1. Chain:
3 mo – 96
6 mo – 102
1 year – 108
2 years – 114
join with 1 ss in 1st ch, to form a ring

2. Ch 1 [1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in the same st as the ss, skip 2 ch,*[1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next ch, skip 2 ch,* repeat from *-*around, finish with 1 ss in 1st sc. Cut yarn and weave in ends

3. Work from the other side (the bottom) of the chain.
Attach yarn with 1 sc in the bottom loop of the 1st ch on rnd 1.

[Ch 2, 2 dc] in the same st as the sc, *[1 sc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next ch, skip 2 ch,* repeat from *-*around, finish with 1 ss in 1st sc. Cut yarn and weave in ends

Flower, medium
Magic circle or ch 6 and form a ring with 1 ss in 1st ch

1. Around ring: Ch2 = 1 hdc, 11 hdc, finish with 1 ss in 2nd ch = 12 hdc.

2. Ch1, * 1 sc in next hdc, ch4, skip 1 hdc *, repeat from *-* 5 more times, finish with 1 ss in 1st sc
= 6 ch4-sp.

3. Ch1, *ch5, 1 sc in next sc*, repeat from *-* 4 more times, finish with ch5, 1 ss in 1st ch
= 6 ch5-sp.

4. Ch1, work around each ch5-sp on rnd 3: [1 sc, ch2, 5 tr, ch2, 1 ss in 2nd ch from hook, 5 tr, ch2, move til next ch-sp] finish with 1 ss in 1st ch.

5. Ch2, 1 ss around 1st sc on rnd 2, ch1, work around each ch4-sp on rnd 2:
[1 sc, ch2, 3 tr, ch2, 1 ss in 2nd ch from hook, 3 tr, ch2, move till next ch-sp], finish with 1 ss in 1st sc Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Flower, small
Magic circle or ch 6 and form a ring with 1 ss in 1st ch

1. Around ring: Ch2 = 1 hdc, 11 hdc, finish with 1 ss in 2nd ch = 12 hdc.

2. Ch5, skip 1 hdc, * 1 sc in next hdc, ch4, skip 1 hdc *, repeat from *-* 4 more times, finish with 1 ss in 1st ch
= 6 ch4-sp.

3. Ch1, work around each ch4-sp on rnd 2:
[1 sc, ch2, 3 tr, ch2, 1 ss in 2nd ch from hook, 3 tr, ch2, move till next ch-sp], finish with 1 ss in 1st sc Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Attach the flower to the headband, and decorate the flower as you please.

  1. throughout this pattern you have "1 tbsp" written in most of the rows - I'm sure that it's a typo, but what is it supposed to read as please?

      equiv to US DC

    2. Hi. I think you must have a translation feature activated in your browser. There is no tbsp in my pattern, as far as I can see. But, ss (slip stitsh) is the Norwegian abbreviations for table spoon - tbsp. I live in Norway so maby your browser is trying to translate from Norwegian 😄 Hope this could help, please let me know if it doesn't. ~ Camilla ~
